Goodbye Forums
Posted by: null on Mar 22, 2005 | | The Trephination forums were hacked, and all the content was deleted. So you're all going to have to find somewhere else to post once a month. The version phpBB that was running had a critical vulrability. I hadn't upgraded them because phpBB releases an update about every five minutes and I didn't think anyone would waste their time trying to break into forums that no one uses. But, evidently there is someone who doesn't have anything better to do and was clever enough to use google and type in "phpbb exploits". They went by the name of Victory 2 because he evidently claims victory over websites and I'm assuming other inanimate objects he has around his house. It's probably a pretty self confidence building habit to get into actually. Next time I finish off a carton of milk I'm screaming, "I have defeated you, VICTORY!" Additionally the brave lad created a new forum called, "Better luck next time, SLUGHEADS". So apparently we're all slugheads and I don't know about you, but I'm having a T-Shirt made to that effect. For now I've changed the link to the forums to go to John Sunol's guestbook. So goodbye forums! We hardly used ye!
